Katie Lara Nolan is a previous student of Animal Science in UCD who is completing her thesis project in our lab in fulfillment of her MSc in One Health in the RVC in London (in conjunction with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine).
Katie is examining Vitamin D concentrations in peri-partum cows. |

Fangting Bai is co-supervised by Dr Stafford VIgors and Prof Meade, and her project focuses on examining the protective mechanisms of microalgae for neonatal intestinal health in swine and cattle.

Hui Zheng has joined our lab - remotely from China but will visit Ireland during her studies.

Naomi Ogbulafor has joined the lab to complete her PhD on bovine mastitis. Naomi will be co-supervised by Dr Orla Keane in Teagasc.
Naomi recently received funding to travel to the RVC in London and receive training on the use of Precision-Cut Bovine Udder Slices with Prof Dirk Werling. |

Yingkun Zhu, based in the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, has started a PhD project investigating how nutritional supplementation with lactoferrin-expressing microalgae may boost intestinal health in calves. |

Marcello Valente has started with our team, and will work in Teagasc, Grange but be primarily based in Tyndall in Cork. Marcello's work will develop a nanosensor to detect DNA methylation as a mechanism to monitor disease susceptibility and improve disease diagnosis.
