Ozge has started a PhD with Kieran Meade and Dr Ed Hollox, University of Leicester to develop assays to type Copy-Number Variation in bovine defensin genes.
Marcello Valente has started with our team, and will work in Teagasc, Grange but be primarily based in Tyndall in Cork. Marcello's work will develop a nanosensor to detect DNA methylation as a mechanism to monitor disease susceptibility and improve disease diagnosis.
